Athena Crowdsourced Research was created to learn and grow alongside the cultivation community. Over two years, Athena explored polysaccharides, fulvics, seaweed extracts, botanical extracts, organic acids, amino acids, and varying levels of phosphorus, potassium and micronutrients.
Across 70 trials with 45 growers in 45 unique grow environments, Athena found that combining fulvics with optimized phosphorus and potassium levels, plus a balanced micronutrient profile, helps optimize nutrient use efficiency — so the plant can reach its full genetic potential in yield, terpenes, flavor and overall quality. Proper is the formula that came out of it.

Athena Modifiers are designed to integrate into an irrigation system without adding complexity. Proper combines concentrated humic and fulvic compounds and micronutrients into one targeted input — most facilities run it from its own doser alongside the base feed from mid flower.
Pair it with Athena Fade, the other Modifier: Fade is built for expression and the finish, Proper for taste.

Proper is Athena’s first synganic formula: a high-concentration humic and fulvic component combined with balanced phosphorus, potassium and micronutrients (0-8-8). It was built from two years of Athena Crowdsourced Research and is added to an existing Athena program to support terpene expression, aroma, flavor and yield.
On Athena’s Modified Pro program, Proper runs at 9 mL per gallon in flower weeks 4–6 and 5 mL per gallon in weeks 7–8 (based on a 2 lb/gal stock tank concentrate). On the Modified Blended program it starts at 3 mL per gallon in week 3 and steps up to 8 mL in week 7, then 4 mL in weeks 8–9.
No. Proper is a modifier that is added on top of your Pro or Blended base program. On the Modified schedules the base rates shift slightly once Proper comes in — for example Pro Bloom drops from 32 to 23 mL per gallon in week 4 — so follow the Modified schedule rather than adding Proper to the old one.
Across 70 trials with 45 growers in 45 grow environments, Athena reports averages across 18 strains with harvest data of +13.6% grams per square foot, +8.0% THC and +25.6% terpenes versus control, with higher aroma, flavor, smoothness and burn scores in smoke tests. Individual results vary by cultivar and room.
