ANGEL RO-4040 ultra-low-pressure RO membrane
The standard 4" × 40" reverse osmosis element used in ANGEL's commercial systems. It holds 99.5% salt rejection and high permeate flow at lower feed pressure than a standard low-pressure membrane, and fits any housing built for 4040 elements.

RO-4040 specifications

| Stable salt rejection | 99.5% |
| Permeate flow | 2,600 GPD (9.8 m³/day) |
| Active membrane area | 100 ft² (9.3 m²) |
| Feed spacer | 28 mil, wide spacer to reduce fouling |
| Operating pressure | 150 psi (ultra-low pressure) |
| Feed water | Under 2,000 ppm TDS: municipal, surface, ground or tap water |
| Membrane | TFC sheeting |
Why ultra-low pressure
- ANGEL rates it for full permeate flow and salt rejection at lower feed pressure than a standard low-pressure element.
- Up to 30% lower energy use than standard elements, according to ANGEL.
- Standard 4040 size: drops into existing 4040 housings for a retrofit.
Common questions
Does it fit my existing RO system?
It is a standard 4" × 40" element and fits housings built for 4040 membranes. Send us your current membrane model and housing and we'll confirm.
How many does an ANGEL ROS system use?
The ROS5 runs 3 membranes, the ROS10 runs 6, the ROS15 runs 10 and the ROS20 runs 12.
When should membranes be replaced?
When permeate TDS climbs or output drops and cleaning no longer brings them back. The Siemens controller on ANGEL systems monitors permeate TDS and alarms when it rises. Replacement interval depends on feed water and pretreatment.
ANGEL documentation
Specifications from ANGEL Health Technology and subject to change by the manufacturer. Performance depends on feed water quality and chemistry.
